long bed to short bed question

I need to know how much to cut out of the frame I have a 79 one ton and yes I have used the search on here.

thanks I have been told to cut 14 inches and some one said 19 or 20 so I wasn't sure

Yes you cut 14" from in front of the wheels and up to 6" from the back .I would wait til you get your box cut down before you cut the rear because for some reason the rear of the frames are different. Just cut off as little as you can. That leaves more room to mount a bumper.

make sure to do lots of measuring as true c/k 30 1ton frames are taller from the firewall back till almost the rear 2 box bolt area .

i needed to repair 1 k30 frame and was going to use a c10 rear section from the center of the rear axle back and it was to short to match up .

so the info you read use it as a guide and note the height difference in the k30 frame .
