You didn’t mention what your engine is, but the old gold Oldsmobile engines looked awesome. You can go a google search for gold Oldsmobile engine and see a bunch of them.

I think he's looking for a pic of the VHT gold paint, not a random gold engine.

Does this help?

That random engine I posted is painted with VHT gold just your Olds engine pic is.😉 It is the known by the Olds crowd to be the best matching spray can paint to the factory gold Olds engine paint.

Re: Gold engine blocks?

Another one.

Olds gold (and I’m sure VHT gold too) is one of those colors that looks different in different light. It looks a lot different bright light than dimmer light.

Either way, just do it man! Dare to be different!

Re: Gold engine blocks?

It's a great color for a hot rod car/truck engine, very popular in the late 60's/early 70's. I seem to recall seeing them mostly in model A's, 32's and hot rods/gassers of the 30's-40's vintage. I still prefer 'ol orange on mine (or green/gray in the earlier era) IF it's a stock truck. Hot Rods, all bets are off and gold is a great option. A couple of great looking examples above. I think the gold paint looks best topped off with cast aluminum valve covers, especially stock vette finned covers. But M/Ts and others of that era look great as well. 67 C-30 - that engine in post 7 looks great - that is exactly the tone of gold I remember.

Probably faster than Chrome! At least by 4 seconds in the 1/4 mile!

Re: Gold engine blocks?

This is aweosme. I just want that pop with gold moroso valve covers, chrome pan and timing cover and aluminum heads for that vintage 70s/80s look...

Especially in my gold truck...
