Vintage A/C & Heater Firewall Mount

Vintage Air has a "central" mounting plate for A/C and Heater hoses. My assumption would be that rubber lines would have to be used inside cab as well as under hood. Question I have is getting heater hoses made up with screw on connectors. Would "O" rings for heater hoses also be needed? Anyone ever used this set-up. Link to connector below.

I used that in my suburban but don't remember using o-rings, been 15 years though.

They sell a fitting kit to go with the bulkhead that comes with fittings that adapt the o ring fittings to barbed fittings.

I'm in the middle of doing this now, also worth noting I'm using the sure fit kit and had to space the evaporator out from the firewall to use the bulkhead.

Was the spacing out of evaporator due to using hoses for connection in the cab? About how much "spacing" was necessary?

Yes. Not enough real estate between the back of the evaporator and the bulk head fittings. 1 used a piece of 1/2 aluminum bar between all the mounts. I mocked up the glove box after and it doesn’t seem to interfere with that. So it’s unnoticable in the end.

Appreciate the response. I can live with 1/2 inch. Out of sight is good.
