Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

I grabbed the camera and headed to The Central WA AG museum at Fullbright Park in Union Gap Today for the 2019 Version of the Old Steel car show. The show is a fund raiser for the Ag Museum and is an open show that anyone with anything who has the entry fee can enter. That said, I decided to do something that I have never done before and probably will never do again. I took at least one photo of every vehicle that was registered in the show that was there when I was walking around. I won't bore you with them here though.

There were some trucks that I see at every show and a couple of new to me rigs.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

A pretty decent square body with something you just don't see on vehicles that age sold in Washington State and that is the original window sticker. You just flat never got that with the vehicle when those were sold new. I'm thinking there was a state law at the time that said they had to be removed and destroyed before the car left the lot when it was sold new.

Both these were pretty clean but not fancy trucks

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

I was ready to pay the guy operating the kiddy train around the grounds to haul me around so i could snap photos. I was ready to borrow a kid so I could ride on it.

The little 54/55 first series, Bare metal and straight. There were still a few spots that need some work but what a straight and solid truck to work with.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

I don't normally do rat rod shots but he had more money tied up in skulls than I had in my truck when I drove it to the street rod nationals in 1973

The "short bus" I;m not sure what was going on there but it was interesting.

The yellow with reverse flames AD shows up just about everywhere and there may be a rule that you didn't actually have a real car show unless it was there in this area. One of the most traveled rigs in the area.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

This little gold truck has some interesting things going including the frenched lights and tilt hood. I didn't get any details on the tilt hood though.

Not a fan of the high backs but that interior sure did look comfortable.

Who would have thought a 55 Buick rear bumper would work on an AD truck.

Sneaked in quarter shot of the Back TF

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

As trick as the Buick bumpers are on it the real trick on the GMC is the 4-71 on a hand made intake on the GMC six.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

This may start a trend with the Dagmars on AD trucks brigade as to me it is a lot cleaner and a lot better fit than the Caddy bumpers.

Maybe bringing the wrap around a tad closer to the fenders would clean it up but I don't find it offensive.

Last two, The white mid 60's looked like it had escaped the farm and ran off to play for the day.

The Yellow 4 light TF was hiding out in the spectator lot but my camera found it for the last shot of the afternoon.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

Can't forget this gent and the Farmall H he was towing the wagon with lots of seats that he picked us up in the parking lot with and hauled us in and dropped us off at the show so we didn't have to walk close to a half mile and then hauled us back. He made a lot of new friends today.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

It's a fun event. Pretty laid back outside of the door prizes and awards. It's one of the first events around here so you see some fresh rigs out for maybe the first time and you get to visit with other car folks you haven't seen for a while.

Some of the odd ball stuff that shows up is pretty interesting too like the Avanti 4 door that some guys have never seen an example of and the Auburn Speedster replica that almost faked me out at first because it was painted correct colors for that model. Even a couple of interesting bikes.

It is really nice for a restored truck. Correct engine color and everything on the truck seemed to be factory or Genuine GM dealer installed.

I don't think my camera was set right so the exposures are bit dark. Old dude not paying attention to his camera equipment issue.

I'm still working on loading all of the photos on Smug Mug and some of the entries make you shake your head a bit like the VW sedan that is the same as my daily driver but it is the "as long as you have the entry fee" event and some enter so they don't have to walk as far and some enter just as a donation.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

Here is the link to the Smug mug album of all the photos I took at the event.
Don't hurt yourself laughing at some of the entries or pondering why they were entered as it was an open event that is a fund raiser for the museum.

https://robertdavison.smugmug.com/20...-Union-Gap-wa/

I did something that I have never done before and probably never will do again and that was take at least one photo of every vehicle entered in the event no matter what it was.

Re: Trucks at the 2019 Old Steel car show

That was a nice one. Quite a number of really nice super cars showed up. Different bunch of cars this year as last year there were a lot of barn find/field find rigs it seemed showing a lot of rust though the paint and they weren't there in any quantity this year. Nor was the club of kids with the big tired lowed late model front wheel drive cars that was there last year. Some guy on here have less in their complete and nice trucks than the guy with the lowrider Buick Regal had in his chrome suspension.
