I purchased a stainless interior fastener kit years ago and just got around to starting to use it. The first thing I tried to install was the glovebox door. The hinge bolts are too long. They caused slight outward dents on the front and bottom of the glovebox door. I’m a little upset because I pampered that darn door for years not to get a scratch on it now this. Beware of those kits, I certainly will make sure the next time I use anything else from that kit.

I think that has happened to some of the guys who just bought what they thought were the right size screw at the hardware store. There isn't much room for error there screw length wise.

My brother did that installing the mirror on the top of the windshield frame on his 1922 Buick Roadster..GRRRRRRR DAMN that sucks!

Any tight space like that unless you have a bolt that came out of it, it's a good idea to check it's depth with a piece of wire or something to be sure your bolt isn't too long.

I know it's different when you get bolts that you are told works, I probably wouldn't have checked it either, just saying.

Yep, used included washers. Its supposed to fit

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
