I would say mechanical, less work to install and less chance of it breaking down or not running compared to electric. Simplicity at its best.

IMO, high horsepower or race engines are the only ones that benefit from elec pumps.

I got rid of my electric for a mechanical too much noise. Sounded like a coffee grinder under my truck. Not to mention my fuel pressure would drop off after 5000rpm. Now my pressure with the holley 110 keeps me around 6.5psi @6000rpm

i vote for mechanical too. quieter, no need for custom wiring & plumbing or an ugly block off plate, and cheaper and more common to replace if needed. Delco pumps are cheap and will probably last as long as the engine.. though that holley one sure looks cool.. how much cole?

I got it from Jegs. 110 GPH series $75.99 But mine is a BBC PT#510-12-454-11. The SBC is 65.99 PT#510-12-327-11

I like it because I was able to rotate the housing so I had a better access to the inlet/outlet.

I've had bad luck with mechanical's. I run electric pumps now.

I have a mech pump in my truck but always had electrical ones in my Corvette, I like the electrical one better. Faster starting because of priming on ign. switch before cranking and it makes the fuel line cleaner. I may swap to an electric one in the future.

I run this puppy for my vette engine, I swear it could suck up an elephant LOL
