McGauphy Lowering kit
I've been doing some research on lowering kits. Trying to figure out how much I want to drop, and then which company/parts to use.
I think I've decided on 3.5"/4" drop, or a 3"/5" drop. I was set at 3/5, but then took a measurement of my fender heights from the floor, and they are only about a 1/2" different from front to back. I was searching to see what I'm going to have to budget and I found the McGauphy 3.5"/4" drop kit - part # 7172C10-34G. What I can't figure out, is how it compares to the other brands. I see a lot of ECE and CPP (or something like that) recommended on here, but can't find much on the McGauphy brand. It's more in my budget than some of the other brands, at just under $500. My budget doesn't allow for $1500-$2000 kits. Especially with all of the other things I'm going to have to pay for. Do you guys have any reviews, or info/thoughts on the McGauphy brand?

Re: McGauphy Lowering kit
McGaughey has been around awhile. So has Western Chassis. Probably OK, but there is a reason you so many people recommending ECE. Quality parts, quality service. Don't have to re-do.

I'll try and look up the ECE stuff tomorrow sometime. Thanks for the info!

Re: McGauphy Lowering kit
I prefer the original, ECE, for quality and knowledge of these trucks specifically. No experience with McGauphy's, so really can't say. I see love and hate for CPP, again, no personal experience. They could make plenty fine parts. I've known of reputable actual "truck guy" vendors selling and using their products. Might try posting this in the Suspension Forum for some more perspective. I think some suspension vendors look at that. Just like anywhere, be prepared to filter through the biased opinions.

Re: McGauphy Lowering kit
Thanks! Here's my newb moment... I didn't even know there was a "suspension" section on this site. DOH! I'll see what I can find out over there. Thanks again! I may keep this one updated just for people (newbs like me) to have a reference.
