Hello all, i'm new here. I have been trying to find out if there was ever a flat style front yoke made for a 10 spline np-205 transfer case that I have in my 70 chevy 4x4. I have the regular yoke on it now but I have a brand new driveshaft with the flat flange on it and I would rather use that style. Any help will be appreciated.

I think you need a newer style yoke from a 75 newer chevy truck.

Yes they do exsist. I have one on the front of my 205 transfer case that was removed from a 1978 1 ton 4X4. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Well, i've got two yokes from newer trucks that have the flat flange but they are fine splined. My old yoke has 10 course splines.

I honestly don't know what they came off of. According to this link, http://www.bowtiecrawler.com/NP205.html , the 10 spline course input shafts were found mostly on applications with manual transmissions but my truck came factory with a 350 turbo and it's got the course splines on it. The main reason I want to switch is for ease of working on. It bites having to tighten the fine threaded bolts up on a cv joint when you can only get about an 8th of a turn on each try because of having to tighten from the back side of the yoke.

The shafts that are shown on that site is where the T case is connected to the trans. From what I'm reading of your post is that you want where the T case is connected to the front drive shaft. Which would be the front output shaft. In that case the spline count should be the same through the years...

Yeah I realized they were talking about the input shaft threads. I think there are 10 spline and like 30 spline front output shafts though. A buddy of mine has a 205 with splines that are completely different than mine. Anybody know of an aftermarket company I might check with or a website?? Thanks.

There is a 205 on e-bay right now that has what I belive is a 10 spline output shaft with a flange. THe guy says it came out of a Chevy with a 235? 4 speed.

The first is a ten spline that is on most 205 t-cases. The seond is a 32 spline. 32 spline front outputs are on 205 t-cases that are behind a Turbo 400. You can also find them on a Dodge t-case. You can change any 205 to a 32 spline output if you have the parts. You may want to do that anyway as it is much stronger.
I think I just saw those parts on ebay.

The bolt pattern on the t400 part is different from the pattern on the t-case that I showed you on ebay. Both of them are different from the one in your second picture. Make sure your driveline matches the flange.

What are the dimensions of the flange on your new driveline?

High angle driveline makes a flanged frone output, but it fits a 32 spline.

FYI the part in the second pic is worth about 50 bucks.

Well I haven't gotten far enough to figure out if it would hit or not. I hadn't thought about that though. The second piece is worth about 50 bucks huh?? I have two of them!! LOL That piece on that e-bay link looks almost like the right splines but it's hard to tell if the od is the same.
