Back up light switch
Hi
I bought a new 69-72 Classic Update Wiring Sysem Kit for my 70 C10 (automatic transmission). The old wiring to the back up light switch has one light green wire and one dark green wire, and the new wiring kit has one light green and one pink. Do any of you know which is which ? |

Re: Back up light switch
If those are the correct wires for the reverse lights as per the manufacturer , since it is a single pole switch you can hook them to the switch if they come on when the truck is not in reverse switch the wires to the opposite terminal and they should only come on in reverse as long as the switch is adjusted correctly.

Re: Back up light switch
I couldn’t recall so I looked at my nutruel safety switch.
Looks like light green is Nutrual switch and purple is back up light.

It would be the opposite. Purple is always the NSS and goes to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid. LockDoc

Re: Back up light switch
Here are a couple of photos that may help. If you are sure the pink is one of the two leads then it doesn't matter which side of the reverse light switch they hook up to to work. It is just 2 contacts that close when the shifter detent lines up.
