2 questions for you guys here
# 1 when i got my truck from the PO it was already changed to a Automatic 350 from a stick so he cut the manual trans cross member out to fit the 350 trans if i want to put in a stick shift again does that mean i have to get another manual trans cross member and have it welded back in or can i just do the swap? and next question is can you put Linseed oil on a rattle can paint? or will it ruin the paint? asking here because i have tried to google it and cant find anything on it i know you guys use it on patina trucks only thing i can find about it is on wood lol thanks again for all your help

As for the crossmember I'd just find used or build one.not to involved if you really look at it.The linseed will be fine but it should be nice and cured paint tho so it can't lift it

The auto should have the crossmember at the tail, most modern std shift use rear crossmembers also.

If you short shift it, maybe 1mpg better. Maybe not. If you want better, you'll need a trans with OD.

You need to find out what gear ratio you have in the rearend.
If you have 4.10:1 then you should raise it to 3.73. I have that ratio and a 4l60e, I get real good mileage.
