so I got my hands on a 70 1.5 ton steering column and steering wheel in good condition.
Question is, is this column the same for the light duty trucks or it longer or??
Also the wheel is in great shape but I noticed theres a plastic mount stub or something on the back. I don't remember if the light duty steer wheels have this "stub) or not. is this also a bigger truck only thing?

I can't tell you about the column. That plastic stub is the cancelling cam and horn contact plate. If there are no screws in it from the top or bottom it should just pull off.

It looks like the wheel is a lot deeper dish than a pickup wheel. If so, it would put it closer to the driver. If you are a small guy like me it probably wouldn't make a difference but a big guy might be a little uncomfortable with it......

the plastic piece looks like its attatched to the wheel with folded over tabs. ill have to look to see if they can lift. as for depth, I didn't even notice.!! ill hold it up to my 67 and see if youre correct. interesting

Okay so this steering wheel that has the exact same dimensions as the steering wheel in my 67 C10 so there must not be any differences. And it looks like you were right. That cancel cam horn contact popped right off

If anyone can chip in about the steering column let me know if a big duty truck is the same as a light duty truck steering column wise I'd appreciate it

It must be the angle that makes it look deeper. Good deal, looks like a good wheel.
