Things I would like to do for the appearance:
-remove the redneck tips and just dump it -drop it just a little -put the cheap cragar chrome five spokes(you know, the ones on every drag car at the strip) -maybe a billet grille -a long time down the road when this paint gets pretty bad, I would like to paint it baby blue metallic

What do you mean about the grille? And yes, I got your pm--I guess I got the same problem with it that you have--I didn't know that I got it until you said something. And thank you for finally answering my question (that's really all I wanted to know).
Why is your name Twin Turbo?

Because of this
Oh, it's a GMC, my monitor is really dark (it's old and I can't adjust the brightness any higher, have to store pic and modify the gamma to view the finer details in darker pics) I have never seen a GMC from those years up close, as far as I know there are none here in the Netherlands. |

Holy crap, please tell me that's not in your truck. What do you think about the turbo regal? You ought to be able to appreciate it.
What do the rest of you guys think about the truck?

I like the turbo regal and the GN, there's a guy in Germany that has a GNX, probably the only one on this side of the pond. Man would I love to have that car...maybe someday I'll own a GN or turbo regal too. That engine is not for the truck, it's for my corvette, it's got a full 5 stage 5 gal. dry sump system and a ZF 6 speed transmission.
But.. back to topic. I really like the dark colored trucks...as for whees I was thinking maybe some convo pros. I'd love to have 16" wheels on them but tires can be hard to find, I have 16x12 and 16x11 on my vette and the only stuff that fits are hoosier pro street radials. Twin Turbo, I don't know if you are finished with the project, but that vette is/will be very impressive to say the least. And what a blast to drive--man I love turbo cars.
here is a descent picture of mine.

I'll post some pics later, but don't want to hijack this thread.
As for the regal/GN cars, most people here will think it's a slow POS (they don't know any better), that makes it REALLY cool love your regal man. |

Wow, I wanna play. It's very clean. Is that a 1980?
About the Buick: Not a whole lot of people know what it is, especially since it is a t-type, not a gn, and alot of people who do recognize it-- don't realize the only difference is that the gn only came in black. I've often been asked: "Bet you wish it was a grand national?" Oh well, you can spend a million years trying to educate the ignorant. About people on here not knowing what it is, I would have to disagree. I get more looks and recogition when in the car from people driving lowered, tricked out, gm trucks than anyone else. I think if anything some guys don't know how fast they are and can be.

Here is a small history lesson on Turbo Buicks:
They were made from 79 or 80-87. The Grand National (the only turbo Buicks that most people are familiar with) were made from 84-87. In 1984 they started using fuel injection. And in 1986 they went to a different setup using an intercooler. Regals with turbos include gns, t-types, turbo t's, and some limiteds. Timspeed, I think you are thinking of a limited. They are rare and came with a wide variety of options including the turbo 3.8liter, bench seat, and vinyl top. They make an excellent sleeper. In 1987 The T-type actually became the Turbo T. So my car is actually a Turbo T. But absolutely nobody knows what that is so I call it a T-type. The only differences between the gn and T are: you could get a T in a variety of colors, gn=black. most T's=chrome bumpers. T's=no spoiler wheels were different seats on the gn are two tone. and thats all. I wouldn't rebadge a T, personally. They are very desirable too. Also I see alot more gn's than T-types. The main thing you want to know is buy an 86 or 87 if you want to go fast. Sorry so long, but man, you got me started.

Sweet rides, for sure. BTW, the T's are also lighter than a GN due to the wheels. The GN's had heavy steel wheels, the T's have the finned aluminum wheels. I had an 85 GN for a while, but that is not really in the same category as the 86-87 cars....

Jonboy,
I just saw your post. You forgot something: t's were also lighter because they used aluminum bumper brackets. and most of them had less options
