72 Long Bed Highlander

I went yesterday to buy 5 wheels and 4 odd looking hubcaps and a tailgate and wound up buying a 72 one owner Black Highlander Truck with a lot of NOS parts and a trailer load of good used parts . The truck has minor frame damage but Im going to save it .

Have some questions though as I have never seen a Highlander before , much less owned one .
Is the bench cover remanufactured by anyone ?
Are all Highlander trucks equipped with the Parchment door panels ?
Was sliding back glass standard equipment ?
I have pics i can text to anyone that would post them for me .

Pretty sure your questions will be answered here. Lots of good stuff if you're into the Argyles.

Post the SPID and some one will help.

Search for TRUCKSEATS in this forum and you can find them. I have a 72 highlander and it will show it on the SPID sheet on the glove box.

Re: 72 Long Bed Highlander

Good looking start of a good project. The Highlanders came with Blue, Gray, Green, and Orange plaid seats only. They also came with the parchment interior along with tilt steering from the factory. Black carpet and black dash cover. Search for SPID in the forum and you will find out a lot of information from others on the highlanders. Good luck on the project. I have attached a picture of my next project when I complete the one I am on now. It is a highlander also.Name: 1972 0 HIGHLANDER TRUCK.jpg

THey didn't all come with tilt. Tilt was included in the YG8 Package "C" on Highlanders. Not all Highlwanders had the YG6-YG7 or YG8 Packages either. Go to post # 38 in the link in the second post in this thread and it denotes what was in the different packages.

Re: 72 Long Bed Highlander

Yet another Atlanta built Highlander with all the package "C" options, but not listed as "special promotional". Nice find - solid black!

Re: 72 Long Bed Highlander

Im still waiting for my friend that owns a Body Shop to come see it and tell me how bad the frame damage is but if needed I will put it on another frame . I have never had a garage kept rust free truck before . Its my understanding that once the truck was wrecked it went from the garage to the barn so it is still nice .

I have a frame available if you need one. BTW, your PM box is full!

Re: 72 Long Bed Highlander

My sliding back glass is not listed individually on the spid so it may not be original . It also has an aftermarket wiper delay like I have never seen before and something on the brake pedal that is not original but will be fun to learn about . I have been sick the last several days so I have not felt like going thru all the NOS parts it came with .
