Interior question

Talking 71 cab here. Im stashing away all the parts for my 71 K10 and Im just trying to make sure I stash the right stuff (weird I know).

Im going with 510 medium blue and a white top. The interior metal will also be all blue. Ive decided on stock black interior (vinyl) because down the line if I decide to get rid of it I feel its a more liked universal color vs if I went with factory blue (which I think looks great btw).

Should the dash board vents be black or blue? I believe the top of the dash should be painted a semi gloss version of the 510 (wrong?). Should the air con ball vents bases be black or blue?

This isn't any sort of 100 percent resto but I wouldn't mind if it matched what the factory would have put in there if a truck was ordered 510 medium blue with black interior.

Re: Interior question

the outer housing of the AC vents are whatever color the interior is. I have had 4 AC trucks that had original paint and all vent houseings match the color of interior. Some were CST trucks and Custom and a K10. top of dash is a flatten color to match truck. I am currently doing a K10 that is 507 (light Blue) with white outer roof. The top of dash is a darker blue because my trucks SPID called for Custom Blue interior which is two tone blues seat cover, darker blue door panels, darker blue steering wheel, light blue column, dark blue dash pad and dark blue visors. If you need some picts go over to my build thread here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=780006

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions I will try to help.

Re: Interior question

I just went through your build early this morning. I do like the idea of maybe painting the top of the dash with a darker blue. Now when you say the housings of the AC vents are the color of the interior do you mean the painted color or the material of the seats color? ... Im probably just being dense here haha.

Re: Interior question

Metal primary body color for the vents most of the time. Some were black (in a non-black truck). In your case - I’ve NEVER seen a 510 blue truck with black vents. I’d go with 510 blue vents.
