Tricks on Removing Side Panel Trim?
I'm going to attempt to remove my lower trim on my '72 Jimmy so I can take them in for restoration.
Is there any helpful advise I should know about prior to attempting the removal? How are they secured to the body? Are they bolted through with nuts on the inside? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Pat |

Re: Tricks on Removing Side Panel Trim?
All of the above, 47 yrs of anything goes...some double sided sticky tape, some bolts thru to the back some snap on clips....Blue tape around area near clip...thin flexible putty knife or 2, under trim slide in check by feel what's there, snap clips push both ways to release...Good luck.

Re: Tricks on Removing Side Panel Trim?
In areas where it is attached with double stick tape I have had success using fishing string to remove. Grab the ends of the string and pull back and forth while going from one end of what you are trying to remove to the other. Works well and does not scratch the paint!

Re: Tricks on Removing Side Panel Trim?
don't be surprised if a PO just put sheet metal screws in to hold in place, some of mine were
to quote notsolow" anything can happen in 50 years"
