66 C10 A/C retrofit

I want to put A/C in my 66 C10 and was looking for any suggestions. I have been looking on the web at Vintage Air and Restomod Air and have seen posts here about those two. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with Classic Auto Air. Their claims sound good, especially in build quality and serviceability.

Vintage Air is king, best out there. I have experience with Old air Products and have that in two trucks for over 15 years, no complaints.
I have heard good things about Classic Air but don’t have experience with them.

Whichever way you go, don't overlook the "extras" you will be buying apart from the kit. They really add up. In my case it was a beefier radiator, a better fan, pulleys, belts, weather stripping on windows and doors, jute pad under the carpet, having the system charged, upgrading the control knobs so they more closely match the stock ones. I probably spent a good 700 bucks extra so as to do it right.

I wanted to keep my glove box and have a smaller foot print in the cab, I also used classic airs "Plan" to route the hoses, instead of thru the engine compartment firewall. To do all that I used a few company's components to build my system.

Re: 66 C10 A/C retrofit

No but classic auto air instructions for our trucks is on this page and that's how I am plumbing the front end. https://www.classicautoair.com/shop/...ioning-system/
I'm using Old Air interior unit and mounted it so it doesn't have any holes in the engine firewall. And I have a full gloved box and I am not using under-dash vents (build thread in sig). I do plan to use a rear exit compressor from vintage air though. When I get home I will take pictures. But don't hold your breath I'm working out of state for a while.
I have built car/trucks since 74 and I have never used one companies entire components. None of them are perfect "for me".

Re: 66 C10 A/C retrofit

Most of the suppliers sell replacement knobs like brothers or LMC trucks
