best way to ship a pair of trucks ?

i am trying to help my cousin ship 2 trucks from california to pensylvania (i know i spelled it wrong). both are 4x4s, one longbed and one shortbed, neither runs but between the pair there are enough parts and rustfree sheetmetal to build a super nice truck. a buddy of my dad's wants them to build a truck but i have never shipped a vehicle so i have no idea how to get started and what a fair price to pay would be. the gentleman that wants them was quoted $8K for both by a shipper in his area, round trip is about 5200 miles. would it be cheaper for him to fly out here and rent a big u-haul and trailer and tow them that way ? any help would be appreciated.

I second the uShip option. I've used it before and had good success. Especially if you are flexible in your timeframe.

Jerry, I have a great connection, this guy is just a broker but treats me right every time. He is excellent to deal with, and knows me well. He has moved over 20 trucks for me. Give him a call, his name is Michael Walker, 314-974-5833. Tell him Joe Ranallo sent you. Let me know if you talk to him

I can vouch for joes guy also. I can also post them on the shipper board for $99 each which is what michael does. Expect to pay 2500 to 3200 to get them moved

Joe,
thanks a bunch, i left him a message. by the way, the black/white take off gate is NOT being sold with my truck. i have not looked at it for a long time but i assume it is still in great shape-it's in the very back of my shop and there is a lot of stuff in front of it.
