1970 rear end width?
I've searched the forum high and low. Would anyone know the outer drum to drum measurement on a wide 70 rear end? It was a change over year from narrow to wide. I'm trying to use my 72 5 lug axles in a 3.73 70 rear end. Mines 3.07 rha w rear end, open.
The rear end is a tda 0309 k code. I found one for 50 bucks, non posi but I'll fix that later.

Re: 1970 rear end width?
It’s the same overall width as the 71-72. Not sure what you are getting at. If you have 71-72 axles and you have a housing the same width as the 71-72 housing they will fit right in regardless of gear ratio.
If I remember there is a 3/4” difference per side so the wider rear is 1 1/2” more so than the narrow. 55.5” versus 57”. That’s flange to flange (where backing plate mounts not wheel mounting surface.)

Re: 1970 rear end width?
Thanks mike, I could have explained the question better. Sometimes my phone has a 3 second lag on each letter I type. Then changes words on me to boot. It's a pain to go back and keep changing words.
I found a wide rear end 1970 6 lug. So my 5 lug axles should work. Now I'll need a series 4 posi carrier.
