To all out there was wandering if, anybody reproduces factory style 67-71 style step bumpers or it has to be found in a junkyard.

Re: 3/4 ton rear bumper

nobody repros them, good luck, they are out there - folks don't seem to want them, which works to us 3/4 ton folks' advantage...

Re: 3/4 ton rear bumper

There's some shiny chrome ones in the LMC catalog. Not sure they're exactly the same as the factory ones though.

Re: 3/4 ton rear bumper

The originals for 67-72 trucks also had a step height that was below the bed floor/closer to the ground. Here is a picture of my aftermarket version. I drilled the extra holes to use it on a 1986 Chevy dually and, later, a 1999 Ford Super Duty. Mine also telescoped so it could be extended 3' to accommodate a cab over camper. The second picture below shows my bride standing on it at Joshua Tree National Park in 1970. Those that LMC is selling are closer to the 73 and up square body trucks.

Re: 3/4 ton rear bumper

Step bumpers are 1/2t-1t pickup bumpers

In '73 step bumpers became less handy. One of the reasons (other than marketing depts trying to out feature one another) new trucks have man steps now. Somebody bumped their head and decided to take that "step" away and raised to just under the tailgate where your boot won't fit when the tailgate is down... which is usually where it is when you find you need to climb in the bed. Going over the tailgate or bedside is taboo in the world of guys who take good care of their equipment.

Re: 3/4 ton rear bumper

I've had to scrap two of those for lack of someone wanting them for free!

I was going to get one chromed, but the LMC bumper was far cheaper than the cost of chroming my original, so I just stuck one of those on and it looks nice enough...

Also note the exhaust tips - 1970 Chevelle :-)
