Clifford the Big Red Truck
Here is my latest project. The back story is, I have a 2000 K3500 dump truck. It only has 26K miles on it, but the frame is completely rotted out. Time to replace it...with a real truck; Square Body! So I found this after much searching. I took a road trip last Friday to PA to get it. This guy and his dad are square body fans and they each had a jacked up longbed and a few parts trucks in the yard. They wanted a wrecker to tow home their project/parts trucks so they built this. The owner had gone through the whole thing and painted it February '19 (TSC implement paint). Valve job, new gaskets, new fuel pump, new water pump, new gas tank, etc. Shortly after they started to build it, they found another tow truck with a small block and 5 speed stick. Since they travel a ways to get good rust free trucks, it made more sense to keep the other wrecker and sell this one, because the one I bought has a 454/4 speed. Pictures of the wrecker build from the previous owner:

It was a tow truck but I didn't need the wrecker body, so we made a deal, they pulled it off while my buddy and I went to town to grab some breakfast, loaded it up and headed home:

Got it home, washed it a prepped it for POR which will happen over the next few days. Needs some work as some of the "repairs" were kinda hokey, but you'll see them as we progress.

Re: Clifford the Big Red Truck
The plan is to add a flat bed dump body. I found one with the hoist and cylinder for $250. The sheet metal on the deck is bad, but the framing is solid but rusty. Brought it home last night.
