67 GMC front wiring harness question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So I converted my C10 to a GMC 1967 and I have the correct 67 harness but I have a dark brown wire that comes out of the harness into nowhere. I'm going to provide a pic here. If any of you could tell me what this ghost you are depreciated this is the last wire in my harness. The big red wire is my power supply for my LS harness
The one I am asking about is the dark brown wire in the pic

Are you sure it is a 67 harness? I believe that the dark brown wire should go to the fender marker lights.

+1 check for power with and w out the lights on.

1967 did not have side marker lights Neither did the 1968 models they had the reflector But it would not light up. If you like the side markers blinking when you make a corner turn you have to buy the 1971-72 front light5 harness. At Night I love having my side blinkers blink when I make a right turn or a left turn People know that I'm turning. I'm trying to work on making my rear bed ones do that same thing Makes it safer for me and the people around Me

no its a 67. I pulled it myself. Its a GMC harness so its just a lil different from the Chevy harness. also theres not a dark brown wire on the other side of the harness (other side of the radiator) Its also a guage harness as it has the little fuses for the ammeter.

ok guys I found out!! its the brown wire leading into the external regulator, which I am no longer using as Im going LS. so do I cap it off or do I hook it up to something still?

i don't know for sure how an ls alternator is wired but I think you might need to use that wire if its the resistor wire some trucks wont stop running without the resistor or a bulb for the idiot light if you have a light

yeah that's what I was thinking too. my truck is a dummy light setup but the harness is set up for the 7 guage set up.
