Character and Class, Old and New Together.

I'm on my 5th of 6 12 hour night shifts in a row and decided to drive my truck to work. I work at a Hospital and there are some expensive rides that park where I park. I've seen this juicy Lexus parked before and today I thought I'll park beside it. When I got out and was looking at my truck and the Lexus parked side by side I thought that' s kinda cool old and new side by side. I call the picture " Character and Class "

I only see one vehicle with character and class. The other is something nobody will even notice 5 yrs from now.

Re: Character and Class, Old and New Together.

Sorry, but I just can't see the character in that Lexus, but the class is gleaming from your truck

Re: Character and Class, Old and New Together.

My thinking is the truck has Character and the the Lexus in m eye is classy. I've never thought of this truck as "Classy" but my previous Pink-White one I did.

Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Buick, BMW or whatever, they all look the same anymore. A truck like yours stands out from the crowd.

Toyota and Lexus came up with that hideous grill design a couple years back.

When you want other people to know who you are, you drive a new, flashy vehicle...
When you know who you are, you drive an old classic...

Talking Re: Character and Class, Old and New Together.

The truck is timeless, and classy with Character! The other one not so much.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Character and Class, Old and New Together.

Reminds me of a few years ago during Woodward Dream Cruise time my oldest said "hey Dad - can I drive the red truck to work?"

He drove to the local airport where he was doing flight lessons and parked out in the corner, by his bosses' new BMW Z6.

Folks had apparently been coming in all day and asking about that Z6.

One of the students came in and said "hey, what's that sitting out there?" so the receptionist started into her well rehearsed explanation: "oh, well that's Bob's new BMW...it's a Z6 and..."

Cutting her off, the student said "no - I'm talking about that old red pickup!"

I always thought the pink ones were only available as a GMC. That’s the only pink chevy I’ve ever seen.

You are basically right as that pink truck was redone like that in the 90's.. Now ith that being said over the 13 years I owned it I had people tell their uncle, Grandpa had an original pink /white Chevy pickup. I have yet to this day ever seen a real pink white Chevy but know of a couple GMC's..

That is what I knew you meant, but I beg to differ. The truck has both and the Lexus is an attempt at class in my eyes. I see them as Euro class wannabes. That's what the Japanese specialize in, copying what they know people want. I still look to them for good economy vehicles, which is what they are best at and what got their foot in our door. That's why they had to come up with a name other than Toyota for their imitation Mercedes
