Air Bags for towing........INSTALLED/pic
I know alot of you dont pull anything with your trucks but untill my 77' is back up and running my 87' has to pull double duty time to time meaning our 25' travel trailer. I got them from a R/V store. and will support up to 5000lbs with only 100psi. Now I dont have cruise down the road with my headlights pointing into the tree tops. Real easy to put on not bad for a 2 1/2 hours work.

I have the same bags on my 3/4 ton. They're great for leveling the truck and trailer when loaded. They don't help the ride at all when unloaded though. In fact, they increase the bounce if you leave 'em aired up.

I havent had a chance to try them out I cant wait. To help out the bounce I backed out the valve cores so the bags have no pressure and its like they arent even on the truck.

My 22ft has about 550 lb of tounge weight. My Suburban sits dead level on stock suspension. That's what a Weight distributing hitch does. Either you not using a WDH or it's not set up correctly.
Those bags are great for load in the bed and a 5th wheel. Shouldn't be needed for a trailer with the right SAFE hitch set up. Those bags are not going to fix the problem of the front of the truck being unloaded by the tounge weight like a WDH will do.

I have the weight distribution systen and I know how to use them. The fact is when you hall any weight around on 17year old springs they break down quick and that what has happend on my truck so why blow the money on new springs that will make my truck ride like crap when I can ride on air while towing & and deflate them when I dont need them and its like they arent on there.
My whole intention is to ride level not carry all the weight. |

I work at a very large 4wd shop and we are always installing airbags. I put them on me truck and I love em. Firestone says not to go over 100psi and run em at 5psi when unloded. Definally worth the money.

I thought it was a 2500. My dad had a set of 2600's that someone put in his SWB 77 that he put a box camper in. They worked good.
