What is a 1972 swb 2wd worth????

I found a 1972 2wd, cab is totally rust free and totally striped, no doors or glass and etc. The swb is in awesome shape. No tailgate. The steel floor has two very small dents in it.The truck has the ps,pb set up still on it. No front clip, motor, tranny, wiring. The guy wants $1,000.00 but I don''t know if it is worth that. My plan is to sell the cab and put a 72 air cab on it and make a very nice lowrider cruzer after my 4x4 is done. What do you guys think? Thanx A ton Dana

$1000 bucks is a bit steep, but if it rust free then maybe around 5-900 bucks, I dunno make an offer and see if he takes it

I agree with hooter, $1000 does sound a bit steep...but then again, good luck trying to piece something similar together for under $1k.

Hmmm, makes the 71 I looked at for 1200$ today not so bad. Mind you this cab was not rust free but it was a complete truck driveline and all.

It does sound a bit steep to me too. But if you are not keeping the cab then you woudl get some of that back so it wouldn't be as bad.

i just bought a 70 swb with no front clip, cab is stripped totally but it`s a a/c/ cab and needs very little work, good doors, and a short fleet bed that needs the rear section of both quarters replaced all for $200. i was just going to look at a frame for my 68 but he had all of this stuff.

around here for a good cab and bed i would gladly pay over a grand without thinking. the guys in rust prone areas know what im talking about. its impossible to find rust free parts around here in md. i say grab it up if its what you want make him an offer and see what he says just remember have cash in hand its makes the sellers decision a lot easier. cash talks bs walks
