cross member info 72 into 77

My brother wrecked his 77 3/4 ton work truck saturday and is needing right lower control arm, upper control arm, ball joints and tierods. we have a 72 3/4 ton with fresh parts on it, curious if the cross member will swap and then all the suspension parts, or will the suspension components from the 72 bolt on to the later model truck without changing the cross members?

they wont just bolt on, the cross member could work, but instead of bothering with all that trouble, stuff from the junkyard could probly be had for very cheap?

I found a post saying that the suspension design of the 71 -83 3/4 uses the same bushing and shaft design and that the components are interchangeable. jus tdont want to go through the motions of dragin the 72 to the shop and tearing both apart to find they dont interchange.

The 3/4 tons used the steel screw in bushings much later, just like you read. Control arms are interchangable anyway. Just call a parts store and find out if the ball joints are the same.

If the ball joints are the same, you're in.
