Vintage Air Gen IV Heater Bypass Placement

I have a VA Gen IV and the heater bypass valve is fairly heavy but does not have any tabs to bolt it to the inner fender. How are others installing/securing these? Pics would be great too.

have you thought about a 90 degree
piece of aluminum or steel for a bracket?

I could do that but there really isn't anything to bolt it to on the valve. I guess people either let them hang off the hose or wire tie them perhaps.

On the 69 El Camino I just did Vintage Air on it just hangs in-line. It's a plastic housing and little servo motor, not much weight for a short run of line to support.

On my '72 GMC I too just followed the VA instructions and it did not need to be secured other that required to attach in-line. My picture would look like the instructions.

Same as Goose. I have that system in my 69. Just have the hoses holding the valve. I wasn’t totally happy with it either, but it seems okay. I think I tie-wrapped it to the hose above it just to relieve some of the stress.

I will follow suit then, was curious if it would be too heavy and droop and beat on my freshly painted inner fender but this appears to be the way everyone is doing them.

Found a picture of mine. I just kept it close to the firewall. Sorry, it’s not a great picture, but you can see it.

Mine too is close to the firewall, maybe a few inches away. Between the short run, and it being tied to the other hoses, I doubt it's seeing more strain. The hoses themselves weight more than the bypass when you consider the length of the run.

Re: Vintage Air Gen IV Heater Bypass Placement

Thanks for the picture, that doesn't look near as bad as I thought it would sort of hanging there.

Picture of mine, it just hangs by the lines. I used Notchhead clamps to hold the -6 line and zip tied the rest of them to it.
