Vehicle History

Hey all,

I imported my 64 truck to New Zealand a few years ago now, but never got any paper work or documented history for it. Only the title.

I know it got built in CA and from what I was told, it was kept in the same family in CA all it's life.

Is there a way to find out ownership history from the VIN or plate number? Or is there a way to get the build sheet from the factory through GM?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Vehicle History

GM doesn't keep build sheets on older vehicles.
You "might" be able to get a history from the california DMV (department of motor vehicles) for a cost of course.
But it would probably not tell you owners names, address.

Re: Vehicle History

Yeah after that actress was murdered in early 80’s (My Sister Sam) DMV won’t give out any prior owner info. Private investigators have access to the law enforcement data base. Sometimes old insurance cards have info but sure you would’ve seen them b

Re: Vehicle History

I hired a Private Investigator to find my 65.
$50 with Paypal and she gave me the previous owner's info.
