Front blinkers not working

Hi everyone..
I have a new to me column from another 69 in my truck after the auto trans conversion. All is working except the front marker turn signal lights. (Don’t have bulbs in the sides as I’m going to fill those holes)
With headlights on, the lights come on solid, but with headlights on or off they do not blink with blinker.
Previously the left side only worked with right side coming on solid only. Then I tried my hazard lights, nothing worked and the blinkers no longer worked on left.
So I got a brand new flasher, and now I’m here with only rear blinkers. 1157 bulbs.

The rear both work fine. What should I check first?

Re: Front blinkers not working

put working bulbs in your side marker lights up front. I had weird issues with my blinker and once I made sure the blinker grounds were good and put bulbs in the side markers I have not had any of the issues I previously had (which were similar to yours).

Make sure they are grounded

Re: Front blinkers not working

Given that the running lights work, I think it is unlikely that it is a grounding issue. Side markers should just be running lights, not turn signals, so I do not think they would effect turn signals. I could be wrong, and these are easy things worth testing.

According to the diagram, it appears the indicators on the dash are connected to the front bulbs, right after the turn signal switch. I believe this means that if your dash indicators are NOT working, but your rears are flashing correctly, then the switch is to blame. If the indicators ARE working, then the problem is between the switch connector and the light.

I would get the test light out and start following it from one end to the other. Test it at the bulb socket. Test it at the connector for the lights above the column. If the connector above the column looks good, but there is no voltage at the sockets, inspect the bulkhead on the firewall.
