205 grinds in 4-low?
I have a 350/350/205 set-up in my 71. I noticed last week while playing in the mud at work that 4- low grinds really bad.....but it stilled moved though. 4-high and 2-high work fine.
Is this t-case a timebomb, or should it be okay. I put very few miles on it by the way. Should I be worried??? Thanks guys Jason

When does it grind? All the time, When you are moving on pavement, When you are moving in mud.
My first inclination would be to suggest that your linkage is not allowing the 4wd to engage all the way and the grinding is when the rear wheels are spinning and the front are not because the t-case is only half way into 4wd. Wash the mud off and crawl under there and have someone put the tcase in 4LO. If you can jack up all 4 wheels, you might learn more. Please use big firewood blocks if you are gonna be under there when the rig is spinning wheels. Try applying the brakes to simulate a load. Let us know what you find Good luck

I never thought of it not being fully engaged?... I did notice during the summer, I was towing my dad's truck and fifth wheel up the driveway(long story) when I put it in four low, it didn't grind, but the front wheels wouldn't turn either. Yet it worked fine in 4-high. btw, i wasn't doing any hardcore mudding, it was just 4-5" of mud around the jobsite.
