Door Striker Bolt
This probably seems like a silly post, but I'm curious and ya'll know your stuff. There's a piece of plastic on my driver's side door striker bolt, it wraps around the bolt itself. However, this piece is not on the pass. side. What is this piece? What does it do? And where can I get one for the pass. side? Thanks for the help.

It is there to stop the door from rattling. There should have been one on the passengers side as well, but over time they wear out and fall off. The plastic sleeve is not available seperately, but a new striker bolt is only about $10 at the dealer.

I do not believe all the trucks came with that. But there is a good chance someone before you replaces just that one. I went down to the dealer to buy new striker bolts but I was not happy with the price. I cant remember for sure, but they were like $25+ each *.
I do not know if they are a harder steel then the Checker ones, but I would like to know. Anyone? * this was at a dealer I am not happy with. I will start going back to the older ones. Can anyone give a part number for the striker bolt, it will make it easier for me if they give me a crazy price again.

Eddie, you were right. I work at a Chevy dealership, but I also bought a lot of other stuff when I bought my door striker bolts. I guessed they were only about $10. I was off by a long shot.
The striker bolt is GM part# 9601750, list price $25.15. You can get the sleeve seperately, GM part# 9601752, list price $.69.

Jonboy, Autozone has them as well for about $4 & includes the striker & the bushing.
