Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

I Did the Friday thing at Vintiques this year because I have a full weekend so while there weren't the cars at the fairgrounds there would be tomorrow I did see a few interesting truck and even a few that I haven't seen before including the GMC burb in this pos. More to come but I have to run errands for a bit.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Square burb that was with the GMC and a nifty little AD truck.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

The Green AD has been a favorite of mine for year. A friend of mine owns the shop that painted it over ten years ago and it still looks as fresh as the first time it rolled out as a finished truck. It gets driven all the time during good weather though and I have seen it at events all around the area. The blue one is pretty stock and the bare metai 54 is bare metal.

Those are some good looking trucks! That first AD suburban is really nice.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

First time I had seen that GMC burb. They beat someone else out of "their" spot. The one is an event that people have been going back to for as much as 45 years and some stake out the same spot every year and get their nose out of joint if someone else takes over that spot.
i've got a few more to post but have a lot to do today.

Sort of like sitting in someone's "spot" in church. I get it. That was a good looking truck.

I don't know if that GMC burb looks all that good. It doesn't have an LS.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Well the nephews wedding was a huge success and we made it home this morning.

Here are a few more. Some for the Pre AD brigade this time as they need some trucks to look at too.

I've always had a thing for those 36/37 chopped bobber Chevy trucks and this last one just adds to the oh yea factor. I had too much going on to go to the streetrod drags Friday night but have a feeling he ran.

Then over in the swap meet where a pair of real deal 52/53 Chevy Hop ranch truck doors for 300 for the pair. I think this is about the 4th swap meet I have seen them at as real nice doors minus signs go for about 75 each around here.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

OOPs the Honda 90 Wheel I bought for 5 bucks for my cycle kart.

Not sure what year but the seats were supposed to be be panel/burb

I'm just Glad I didn't have a lot of money to spend or a place to store it as this kids ride really spun my wheels Saturday and would be great if I ever get grandkids.

My former student and now friend's 55 Chevy 2 door post. He has been working on this for a few years and it is one nice big block powered 55 that has the power to light those tires up.

Artie Reis's AD GMC with blown GMC straight six and Buick front bumper.
I first met this guy when he poured ice water on my wife in a wet T shirt contest 41 years ago that she almost won.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

Now we have the AD running boards and splash apron that were surface rusted but real straight.

2 carb intake that I think was for a 216.

I eyeballed this 46 car grill for a while trying to figure out if it could fit my 48 truck without huge mods to either. A bit out of my price range this week though.

Then we have the Clifford intake for a 250/292 with weber carbs that the guy has been packing to swap meets for a while. Nifty setup if a guy needs it.

Then back over in the show area a little Black AD with later wheels and caps.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

It isn't considered to be a real car show in Central Washington unless this black and yellow flamed AD shows up. The truck does have some tricks and is very well done and has held up well. The one piece windshield drives me nuts as the distortion is so bad though.

OK I know that this is not a Chevy truck. Thing is if you are a "patina" truck this is the absolute grandfather of all patina trucks in the world bar none. This truck has not changed much if at all since the mid 80's and was a patina truck long before the phrase was coined or used. If you think Patina is a new thing this one has you by over 30 years.

Last but not least is this little 68 stepside that may be a long bed that was shortened too much but I think I made the kid's day when I took the photos of him driving by.
That's it not a lot there on Friday when people haven't got into town yet and a lot are out running around town, touring the wineries or brewpubs or shopping for those who live way out there. It isn't unknown for families fro m some rural areas to do their school shopping while in town for the show.

Nice pics, thanks for posting them. I'd love to own that GMC Burb. That nice chromed SBC engine looks right at home there to me.

Re: Trucks at 2019 Vintiques Northwest Nationals.

The burb was really nice. The guys at the back were looking at the build book.

Fridays are hit and miss there as there are a lot of things for participants that are in town to do including the drags on Friday Night. To top that off just a few miles from the fair grounds the Moxee Hop fest was cranking up with a lot of the craft breweries in the area represented.
