Wiring Question for those who used 95 Silverado starters??

Looking to upgrade my starter to a newer smaller style Silverado starter from the mid-late nineties. How did you guys wire these up? I only see a stud for the 12v from the battery and a stud for the purple wire from the keyed ignition. What do I do with my yellow coil wire??

Thanks

I stripped mine out of the harness when I put in the HEI. You will have to find a different source for ignition power during cranking, if you aren't using an HEI or other ignition. If you still have points, you can tap into the purple wire to power a relay that will power the coil when cranking. You'd still use that yellow wire, in that case.

My yellow wire is gone too. I'm running HEI distributor.
