Re: GMC Tailgate
Nice looking tailgate from what I can tell.
Bottom is rust free? No Body work? Almost looks too nice to put a Chevrolet band across it. If I take it, it's for Chevy. Interested. |

Re: GMC Tailgate
I know nothing about the history of the tailgate. I don't see any rust but do not know if there is any bodywork. I have had that for several years and it is sitting the same way I received it. At first you were confusing me with Chevrolet but now I get it. You will use on a Chevrolet and put a tailgate band over "GMC". In case you are interested I have a brand new in the box woodgrain Chevrolet Tailgate band. There are obviously dents on the inside Gray side. Verify that you want it. It will take me a few day to get it shipped. It probably will not ship till mid next week. Let me know thanks. PM me for payment if you want it.

Re: GMC Tailgate
Since this website is such a great internet resource, it's nice when sellers leave their asking price showing in the thread once sold for the sake of reference. Sale prices here are more realistic than Ebay, which so many seem to fall back on when looking for value of items for sale.

Re: GMC Tailgate
In the interest of full disclosure, I took more pictures of the front side of the tailgate blemishes.

Re: GMC Tailgate
Just a follow up on how I packaged and shipped tailgate.
Took a 1x4 and put it on both sides. Used some 3/4 Furring strips and put them across the tailgate left to right. Used finish nailer to hold together. Used some Masonite type material I had lying around and stapled to the frame. Wrapped in stretch wrap and put reinforced packaging tape on top of that. Shipped out via UPS. Printed label from Paypal. Dropped off at local UPS store. Weighed 95# and cost less than $95 to ship from Bristol CT to Texas. |
