new here, pics of my 77 swb

i have posted a couple times with questions but not really introduced myself.
here is a couple pics. i rebuilt the top end of the 496 over the winter as the PO really did a piss poor job. short block looked good tho so he must have had someone else do that. the whole top end looked to be completely ebay sourced from china, cheapo lifters, cheapo rockers, etc. rocker geometry was also way off due to incorrect pushrod length.

i put manley valves, howards springs, trend pushrods, morel lifters, and straub rockers in it.
cam is 233/247 @ .050", .601/.612 lift.
i went with the aed 950 carb which is a 850 body and a 750 base plate, it works perfectly for this motor.

anyways, hi.

Re: new here, pics of my 77 swb

Your going to need some wider tires on he rear to handle the power. I had a mild winter 496 In a C20 with a Dana 61 with 3.07 gears. It would lay rubber for days.

Re: new here, pics of my 77 swb

it does indeed lay rubber on command lol.

those are 295s, but even on the 3.42 in the 12 bolt, it will blow them off at will.
im not doing any racing or anything tho so it should be ok for the time being.

im most likely going to tackle the interior lighting next, PO thought it was a good idea to chop the wires under the dash for the dome lights to crudely power the lights to his panel of autozone gauges bolted to the stock radio location instead
