How long will it take me? 4x4front repair.
It sounds like the needle bearings have evaporated from the front RH u-joint. This is in my 72 3/4ton 4x4 plow truck. The lack of snow at the moment means I should get it fixed now rather than when I need to use it to push snow. How much time would or should this take for a first timer.

It's not that bad. Took me a day to do both sides and I'm not speedy or an expert. This was my first time. Check out those wheel bearing real close. If they're original, now would be a good time to replace them and the races

I agree, it won't be that bad. You might want to get a socket for the spindle nuts. Also make sure the axle tubes are clean before reinstalling the axles or you will push a bunch of sludge into the differential.
