Need to know which length springs to get

I measured my current springs from center to center with it sitting on the ground and came up at 52" or pretty close. Is this the correct way to measure them? I am going to buy 4" lift springs so I need to order 52" springs correct?

I actually take the weight off the spring to measure them but some shackes won't move much with the full weight on them. Yes, they should be 52" springs (assuming it's not a 67 or 68 truck) and you would need to order 52" springs in whatever size lift you are looking for.

Thats what I thought, thanks a lot for the help. I have a feeling the guy on the other board doesn't know what hes talking about. Its an 85 K10 and I figured they would have short springs.

Short springs on an 85 k10 sounds right. If you need confirmation, my dad has an 84 k10 so I can measure his and let you know for sure.
