Power Brakes on a 1948

I've been scouring the catalogs and reading here, but haven't found a definitive power brake build thread for the 48 with manual trans. It seems like there are clearance issues with the clutch linkage on a manual trans with power brakes, but hydro-boost may be an option?

I want to keep the truck looking original, but I also want to be able to drive it without fear of not being able to stop when I need to.

Thanks for any helpful advice (or ridicule)!

If you have spent time restoring your truck to original specs and want it to continue to look original consider a Hydrovac. Hydrovac units were available on AD trucks as a factory option. For my '57 I located a Hydrovac from a '60s truck. The later HV looks different but also looks close enough that most folks won't complain.

My truck was built to work without luxuries. Original options included electric wipers, bed mounted spare, eight cylinder engine, oil bath air cleaner, and 16" wheels. I hope to adapt an original style power assist steering system, possibly from a 70's Ford truck or C3 Corvette, if I ever have find time.

I have the oil bath air cleaner, but no oil filter assembly.
