Question on front coilovers
I have a 69 c10 turbo ls that I took out all the old suspension and added a Scott's hotrods front end and I bought some qa1 double adjustable coilovers for the front and the rear a got the qa1 double adjustable rear kit with 12in springs @200lbs with they're panhard and all, the frame is all boxed in and braced my setup is gonna be a aluminum 6.0 with turbo and 4l80e transmission with a 14 bolt 9.5 out of a tbss my question is what coilover springs rate is everyone using or moreless what is everyone's waying so I can get an idea where to start off I need to run 10in springs up front truck is at the shop getting worked on so I'm trying to order the missing parts so when it gets out I'll be ready
Here's some quick piks of the truck she will be on race wheels and I'm the piks we were trying to fit up all the intercooler piping to send it off to get welded that's y it on with tape |

I have Scott’s front end with Afco double adjustable up front , my front shocks are 4” with a 8” spring 600lb rate, front weighs 1849.

I'm around 1850 on the front also with me in the truck. I run a 500 lb spring.

Thanks for the responses so would I be safe to say order maybe like a 9in or 10in spring with a 550lb to start off

Reason I ask is cause I had welded up everything for the rear in front of the diff and bought 12in 140lb springs for the rear and u can see in the pik that as soon as I set down the truck down is put the springs in a bind and pretty much went all the way down that the reason I ordered the qa1 kit for the rear with 200lbs springs it's still missing the batteries in the rear anti roll bar and fuel cell so they're was no point in keeping my setup plus the qa1 kit puts it on the outside of the frame so I can adjust them easier

Couple of questions and observations. What are you plans for the truck when you get it done? That can drive spring rate. Then position will also make a difference. A spring rate in front of the axle will be stiffer than one in back. I like to do all my fit ups and installations with dummy shocks installed at the length of the installed height of the shock I am going to run. I do my frame work with the frame set at ride height. Then when it is all together weigh it and then get springs. FAbbing it up this way ensures that the shock will be at the correct installed height when your done. I have been using Hyperco and Afco springs and have had really good success with either one.
