Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
I need to replace the brake proportioning valve on my '72 Blazer. I've seen several of the brass aftermarket ones out there. Just curious if anyone has a replacement recommendation? From looking at pictures, I'm wondering if the warning light plug and mounting holes will all line up going from the factory unit to one of the aftermarket brass units. Thanks, Jon.

Re: Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
I have tried numerous different brass ones and they have all leaked. I just ordered a inline tube one that states it is made in the usa. All the other ones I tried were Chinese garbage. If the inline tube one doesn't work I am going to try and find a used factory gm one.

I replaced one using Wilwood. No leaks and all holes lined up with existing lines. Been running several months with no leaks nor problems. Black aluminum - got from Summit.

Re: Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
These trucks din't use a proportioning valve. It's just a distribution block. I used one from CPP that came with the booster and M/C. It was all one unit and works fantastic.

Re: Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
71-72 used a proportioning valve or combination valve with front disc brakes. Drum brake trucks used a distribution block.

Re: Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
When I needed one for my disc/disc conversion, I called up the guys at https://piratejack.net . They seemed very knowledgeable and the MC /prop valve I got from them worked great and installed easy.

The brake warning plug fit. The Wilwood was identical to the one I had which came in a front disk brake kit which I am pretty sure was same as GM original

Re: Brake proportioning valve replacement recommendations?
I bought one from toughstuff. It fit okay but I haven't had a chance to try it out as the truck isn't running yet. You might be able to see it in the photo.
