Centering rear axle
Does anyone have experience with moving the center pin on the rear springs of a first gen Blazer? I am having custom springs made and I want to center the wheel in the wheel well opening. How much does it need to be moved back? I have seen pictures but I have nothing to measure from on mine.

I redrilled the perch ontop of the axle housing and just pushed it back on both my '72 Jimmy and my kids project truck. Both trucks run 9.5" 8 lug axles from 3/4 ton Suburbans and the longer nose keeps u-joint in same spot as the 12 bolt in stock location.
Depending on lift, you may have to have a driveshaft made to fit the pushed back axle.

Thanks Mike, I think they look better centered. I may try moving the hole in the perch if I need to.

I moved mine back 1/2 ". I needed 1" spacer blocks anyway so I shifted the pin on the block.

I saw the zero rate blocks and offset plates from ORD. I am using a shackle flip which moves the axle forward 1/2” . I am having Alcan make the springs, they can move the pin back when the spring is made. I’m thinking I should move the pin back 1-1/2” to start and then if I have to I can use the offset plates to adjust from there.
