Square Body Military Wheels

Does anyone know anything about this type military wheels that were used on the square body K series pickup & blazer?

I bought a set off a diesel military blazer, they are 6 lug. I’ve never seen a 8 lug blazer

My bad - your correct regarding the Blazer - What's the deal with the outer ring? Is this a 2 piece wheel, where you can mount the tire by removing the outer ring?

Isn't that the run-flat wheel that came on Humvees? I think they do unbolt to split the rim. The run-flat 'device' is a solid aluminum donut

Agree Special K these look to be H1 rims, Double bead lock with run flats they came in 8 and 12 lug

As stated above those are Humvee 16.5" wheels and not originally used on any square body GM trucks military or civilian. In order to run them, due to the backspacing, you'll need a dually Dana 60 front axle or some huge wheel spacers so they don't rub on the steering components.

Its the same 8x6.5 bolt pattern and will fit GM axles. But they did not come on GM trucks.

The posting listed 'cucv' - which I believe is military....thus my question....Didn't seem logical to me as, I never seen them on any military 'K' trucks....

They were all on humvee’s. That wheel is the older, original style 2 piece run flat. Later versions were a 12 bolt 2 piece wheel. The early model versions ran a magnesium inner run flat/beadlock while the later 12 bolt versions ran a rubber run flat/beadlock.

They are great wheels (if you want a 16.5”, and want to modify or off-road, tremendous load capacity). The backspacing on those wheels are quite a lot, somewhere around 8” if my memory serves right. Years ago people would re-center the wheel, companies would sell re-centering ring kits. That was a cheap and easy solution for those that wanted great off-road performance but didn’t want the beadlock wheel price.

I ran a set on my 1986 K30 crew cab with the 37” tires that came on the humvees. The truck was originally a dually. When I ran those wheels on the dually it was great bc I didn’t need to modify the axles or the wheels as the wider dually axles combined with the tremendous Humvee wheel backspacing allowed the tires to sit exactly perfect.

I would only run those wheels on a hardcore wheeler that never sees street, with the backspacing modified. Or run them on a dually but be prepared for the typically headlock issues such as tough to balance and leaky tires.

The setup was actually very impressive. One time I accidentally drove about 90 miles on a completely flat tire on the freeway but had no idea. I was riding dirt bikes one day and picked up a thorn while leaving the track in my truck. It leaked out all the air but couldn’t tell. By the time I got home the tire had a number of large gashes from running empty but that didn’t stop that big old truck from running 65 mph down the freeway the whole way.
