Re: Dustless Blasting Results and Review

You can see the end result for mine at the top of the page here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=773647&page=2

It's certainly not dustless...but I loved the results. I used Dustless Mobile Blasting locally and they washed all my parts down with a rust inhibitor. It's been almost 3 months and I still don't have any flash rust to speak of. I also kept my panels and parts in a closed garage after and avoided touching with bare hands.

Re: Dustless Blasting Results and Review

The shop owner had blasted some very old lawn furniture weeks earlier. Some had rusted, some looked like they were just blasted. He said there is no rhyme or reason, some metal will flash rust right away and some won't.

Re: Dustless Blasting Results and Review

I checked into dustless blasting for my IH build..price quote was unreal, so I went with conventional blasting...but WOW, that's a lot of mess he left behind..i would have thought he could have washed that out the back
did he not use the rust inhibitor? that rusted up quick

Re: Dustless Blasting Results and Review

I posted on your build thread but if you take the truck to them I found it was half the cost for blasting

Here are some before and after pics, of bucket seat frames I restored. It’s not dustless, but it gets the job done.

Re: Dustless Blasting Results and Review

My daughter and son in law own and run a dustless blasting business, never would they leave a mess like that in/on someone’s job.

Rust inhibitors are key but they do not last long, it’s the blasters job to inform the client of all the steps in the process and what they should expect...no surprises !
