Anybody buy the Brothers new tilt steering column?

I see they are on sale, and was wondering if they are worth getting.
I know its not factory original, but I need a new column to do a 700R swap in my truck.
Anybody have any feedback on them?

Re: Anybody buy the Brothers new tilt steering column?

I have one. They are a CPP product. I have not really had any issues with mine except the linkage to hook to a 200r4 trans. Basically had to design my own linkage setup but it wasn't that hard to do. Lokar setup looks like it would also work.
I do like being able to tilt up the wheel just a bit.

Do a search....they are complete garbage.
I rebuild GM columns, do yourself a favor and buy GM.
I read that many people say ididit is a good column, i have one, its garbage too compared to a gm column.

I have some columns in the process of rebuild, let me know if you need one.

Are there manual trans tilt columns or not. I only ever see auto ones.

Re: Anybody buy the Brothers new tilt steering column?

Good information Randy, like you I was told to stay away from the import stuff but understood the Ididit columns are better. You would know as I have seen several you have worked over.
I did a rack and pinion change and a suggestion was to go with a 32 inch column so a little shorter than the factory one. I am using my factory tilt but has an ever so slight catch at a certain point due to the u-joints. do you have any suggestions for this situation? Currently I am using what I have with no ill effects.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Anybody buy the Brothers new tilt steering column?

I bought a CPP column for my C10, but replaced it with a rebuilt GM/Chevy truck column from Les (70shortfleet). The rebuilt OE column feels sturdier and the shift indicator is better aligned with the shift linkage. The CPP tilt handle would flop around and the shift indicator was way off no matter what I did to the linkage. The OE column cost more, but I'm glad I got it. Les also cuts down van columns to truck length, so he may have that as a slightly cheaper option as well.
