portable winches
Im looking to purchase a drill powered winch for its versatility , been looking at the Warn winch line up they have , its seems they offer a few versions some just use a cordless tool type battery and some use a actual cordless drill, they are other companys that manufacture them but Warn would be my choice just because they have the reputation as a good winch company,
Has anyone here used one of these are know someone who has one , most online write ups have positive reveiws ,but was hoping someone here has one are knows someone who used one, my main use would be for when I plow my 1/2 mile of roads and my drive way sometimes I get stuck and just need that little extra pull to get me unstuck and also move downed trees to get them in a better cutting position.and to drag my small floating dock and john boat out of my lake before the freeze or just to drag semi heavy objects .Basicly Im getting older and looking to ease the heavy work load when I run in to it. |

Re: portable winches
Yea these winches do not need to be mounted , thats what I dont need , these are portable in the sense you can put them in a back pack you tie them off on any solid point like a tree or boulder these are only rated for 1000 lbs so if you snatch block them they become rated at 2000 lbs of pull ,I really dont need more then that kind of pulling power its more enviormently friendly and faster for the purpose I want it for , if I need to move something that heavy I will use my backhoe witch almost always ends up creating more things to due after using it .
