Re: Accessory Switch Ideas

It looks like a lot of people aren't liking that switch very well.

Probably half the price is in the switch an half is in the knob and bezel.

There are outfits that sell custom looking knobs like that to go on switches you would buy at Napa or other parts houses.

A few things:

Headlight switch? Do you want a dimmer for the dash lights in it and or to be able to turn on a dome light from it?
Do you want to have the park lights work when the headlights are on?

The rest of the switches have to work with the things you are using.

As far as the actual knobs go they have to work with the shafts on the switches and accessories along with fitting in with the build theme of the truck and your personal taste.
A simple google search for custom dash knobs gives you a mind boggling selection.

Re: Accessory Switch Ideas

Good point mr48chev
Didnt think of taking an OEM switch and matching a custom knob to it based on thread etc.

Im just about to startwiring - and thinking of all those accessories that are no longer going to work with my cable driven switches

Re: Accessory Switch Ideas

Used this switch in my truck. Works great. Runs the inside interior light and also dims my gauges.

ac will be it's own system, as will radio
after market wipers typically have their own switch

that leaves you with lights...
stock replacement from brothers looks and works good
it has dome light control and a dimmer for dash light
i'd do a stock dome light up front and led strip lighting in back

what wiper system are you using?
if you stay vacuum you need to keep the rotary switch
