Front x-member for 68 gmc 3/4 ton

I have a 3/4 ton gmc and i'm looking to convert it to a 1/2 ton setup to allow me to lower it a bit. While checking around town I have one place with a x-member from a 70 or better 1/2 ton with the p/s gearbox & pump and the power disc booster for around $450... Since i'm relativley new to trucks and wanting to do some customizing, does this price sound ok??

The only problem to this setup is finding the power steering pump/resevoir bracket for the v-6 engine. Is there a part number or some cross reference that will work? In addition how about the pulley from the crank to drive the p/s pump...

thanks in advance!!

I would try to ind a truck in the local paper that is being parted out. Chances are you can get a whole truck for that price if it is wrecked or get the member for next to nothing because it is not everyday someone is looking for it.

I guess I'll just wait it out a bit and see if anything comes up in the local rag...

By the way is there someplace or someone who has done this type of swap who has a "shopping list" already done?

Thanks!
