67 panel truck neutral safety

my panel truck will start in any gear, is this an adjustment to fix or replacing the switch.

There are two small hex head screws that hold the NSS switch to the lower column. I have seen both 1/4 and 5/16" heads on them. All you need to do is loosen them up a little and you should be able to slide the switch to the right or left. I set mine by blocking the wheels, putting the shifter in reverse and adjusting the switch until the reverse lights come on. This usually gets it aligned properly. Of course you have to be sure that the reverse lights work....

This picture shows the switch and the two purple wires hooked to it. (Looking up from next to gas pedal)
Since your truck starts in all gears someone may have jumpered the switch in the past because the switch failed. The switch does not care which purple wire goes to which terminal on the starter safety switch side. The other side of the switch has the back up lights on it. (Second photo. On the door side of the column) So there are four terminals with wires hooked to the switch on the column.
