Re: 1970 GMC front parking light socket/pigtail
Are you guys saying you know these places have this model specific part? If anyone offers them I don't know about it. If they are available I'd like to know. I hang on to any used ones I find. I have lamps that need them.

I cannot speak specifically to the GMC signal in question, but if I were to guess it is similar in construction to the one in this thread. You may find the answer you are looking for here.

Re: 1970 GMC front parking light socket/pigtail
I have seen them on ebay used. I had a parts truck that I stole them from. Before I got them off my parts truck I could not find them in reproduction. I did find a light socket at Autozone that I wired myself that fit the parking light socket as a temporary solution. Wasn't pretty but it worked and nobody could see it.

Re: 1970 GMC front parking light socket/pigtail
OK so I have been working on my daughters 68 truck getting it tore down. I took the grille apart and pulled the front parking lamps off. They are basicly the same thing as your bumper lights just mounted in the grille.
So any way I decided to check them and see if they worked. One did the other one wouldn't hooked to my battery. I used a jumper wire to the pigtail and another one to the mounting bolt. Nothing. Took the bulb out and checked it. Broke the bulbs both trying to get them out. So I got to looking inside the socket. The double wire insert was stuck in the bottom no springing action. I soaked it down good with PB blaster and used a small screw driver. I could push down but it wouldn't spring back up. I cut the rubber right at the housing on the back side and used the small screw driver to punch it up. I worked it back and forth until it would spring back on it's own. I will tape the rubber back down to the housing but I got it working. Both lights work fine now. Hope this helps you on yours it may just need a little push.

Re: 1970 GMC front parking light socket/pigtail
Here are some simple easy way's to check your lights and fixtures to make sure they work once installed in the truck. This will work on just about any GM vehicle made as long as it's 2 wires in the harness.
I just want to say I'm not a video expert. I just try to help people best I know how. First video is making sure you get the proper fitting of the bulb inside the socket. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WG6hKt6OGQ These video show how to use a 110AC input/12 volt output plug in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQu005yAQ24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQu005yAQ24

Re: 1970 GMC front parking light socket/pigtail
I have bought these and taken the wires out. You can re-use what isn't broken from your original and save splicing wires sometimes.
