battery tray 70 K10

Replacing original battery tray today, first time I was aware of welded cage nut on right support leg. Hard to tell if old tray ever had screw in it, just wondering what the purpose of it is? thanks Mav

Not sure without a picture but it is probably the one for the body bolt that comes up through the inner panel.....

Trucks with Production Air Conditioning had a support for 2 of the A/C lines on the inboard rear corner of the Batt holder.

Like Doc says, there was a fender screw [pointed 1/4''-20, - 1'' long, 7/16'' hex head, w/integral washer] coming up thru the passenger side fender skirt to secure the lower leg of the battery holder. Purpose: keep dog house tin from rattling too much.

Thanks you guys, (pulled inner fenders awhile back, when I took a second look at the passenger side yesterday it was embarrasingly obvious what the bolt was for.) Just secures inner fender to tray. Mav
