1984 K10-The Rock
This is a truck a buddy of mine donated to help get the shop up and running. Pretty nice truck to begin with, needed a lot of little things. But we’re going to take it from nice to Killer! Plans include paint (midnight metallic blue), cowl hood, Lund moonviser, chrome bull bar, chrome roll bar, chrome nerf bars, LED headlights and turn signals, LED 32” light bar behind the grill, blue LED wheel well lights, replace those goofy tail lights with stock, and new belt line chrome.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Oh the inside we’re giving it a 1000 watt bluetooth stereo, digital gauges, new door panels, a new steering wheel, cleaning the carpet, dash mat, blue LED accent lighting, and replacing the tank selector switch/multi-function switch.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
The engine actually sounds REALLY healthy as it is. It’s a 350/700R4 combo with a very aggressive cam, And it has long tube headers. There’s a few things we’ll be addressing like converting from manual to electric choke, but mostly we’ll be focusing on cosmetic. Plans are it will be repainted red with black finned aluminum valve covers, a natural aluminum intake, spun aluminum Dual snorkel air cleaner with functional ram air, and a serpentine belt drive off a mid-90's C/K. And the plan is to make the A/C functional again.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Day 1
Spent the day stripping down accessories to get at the motor for a deep cleaning. The last picture is what all we took off.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Day 2
Didn’t get much done today. Had to run to Sedalia. My $350 80x40 sign had the phone number transposed! Had to bring it back to get it fixed! We did however get the majority of the motor cleaned and the cowl hood on!

Nice. My 82 has non-working AC and I am considering a serpentine swap too. Good truck to start with.

Day 3
So today we finished cleaning the motor and masked it off for paint. Last picture is the motor in it’s first coat of Hot Rod red!

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Then on to the multi function switch. Some genius cut the wire right at the switch, nothing to chase the new wire with! Both pictures are of Emma struggling with that.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
We finished the evening by taking out the grill, in preparation for the new headlights and 32" light bar!
Both Alex and Emma are taking tomorrow off for some project that’s due Thursday. So no updates till Thursday.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
So we started today by stripping off the masking, and taking off the intake and valve covers. We discovered roller rockers under there! And zero sludge in the lifter Valley, which leads me to believe it hasn’t been very many miles since the rebuild!

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Then we put the Edelbrock Torqer intake manifold on it and the SoCal black finned aluminum valve covers on it and it looks Killer! A total transformation! Exactly how I pictured it!

This is the motor as it sat last night. Dist. Stabbed, new oil filter, crank case full, carb, and everything bolted down

Then we decided to harness the power of the Sun with the headlights! These are "The Rock’s” new peepers...

Oh, and we decided to add some tunage. Those are 12” Kenwoods and a 1000 watt Pioneer amp!

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
so today we decided to put a 32” LED light bar behind the grill. It required some fab to make it fit, we have some tweaking tomorrow.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
Here’s the engine as it sits tonight. Header’s, plugs, wires, cap/rotor installed. We were going to go to my buddies on Saturday and get the serpentine drive, but on Friday night his wife’s heart attacked her. So he spent the weekend at the hospital.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
We also swapped out those stupid looking euro-trash tail lights in favor of some repop OEM ones. Vast improvement!

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
So we put a new reverse flow water pump on it and the serp pulley’s for the wp and crank. The bottom picture is of the serpentine drive we scored for this project. It was donated by a 92 K1500.

Re: 1984 K10-The Rock
These are the stock gauges we’ll be replacing with Intelletronix digital gauges.
The second 2 are how far we’ve torn the interior apart to replace things
